out of a lagoon in redwood shores crashing yesterday killing a bay area business tycoon and his passenger. rea is live at the crash site with the latest. rea? >> reporter: cheryl, right now the plane is still in the water although it's along the slower. there are divers below examining the plane and removing the two men still in it, the pilot and his passenger. the redwood city police, fire and resccue along with the dives have been working since this morning to raise the plane to the surface. the plane crashed into the lagoon surrounded by office buildings and home yesterday at lunchtime. a woman floating near the plane was pulled from the water soon after the crash, dead. she was the pilot's girlfriend. the other two men, the pilot and local businessman, bob bohrmann, are still inside the plane, that until a half an hour ago remains submerged. the ntsb and faa will conduct an investigation of the plane and the crash. malcolm smith of redwood city police and fire says it's the first step to getting it on land. >> placing flotation devices on the fuselage of the plane in order t

, it is a grim scene here at the redwood shores lagoon. about an hour ago, the transportation safety board took over the operation, so the rescue mission by the sheriff's department and coast guard is over. one body was recovered but the body believed to be of bob borman and two passengers are still under water. the beach craft twin engine plane with a pilot and two passengers took off from san carlos airport just after noon. many people who work around the lagoon heard the plane nose dive into the water. >> it banked straight up into the air and i jumped up of the of my desk and said, plane crash. call 911. it sounded like it had a hard time accelerating. then i looked up and heard a big boom. the plane just went down, so i ran to the lake. >> reporter: a lot of people tried to get to the scene including who men in a kayak, some swimmers. but the coast guard sent them away because of the leaking oil. >> i can tell you she was found a couple of feet from the plane. she was not seat belted into the interior. >> reporter: as we reported earlier, officials are not confirming the identities of the

are expected to arrive at the scene of a redwood city plane crash today. the plane plunged into the lagoon at redwood shores yesterday afternoon. we have claudine wong with the latest. >> reporter: good morning. we are in a bit of a holding pattern at redwood shores lagoon as we wait for the ntsb to arrive. until they finish their investigation, this plane will stay in the water. there are two victims that are also still in the water. that is not going to change until the investigation is complete. this 1961 twin engine beechcraft twin air crashed before noon yesterday. witnesses say they heard sounds that sounded like engine problems and reported the plane banking to the right before going nose first into the water. on that plane, 92-year-old bob borrmann, the founder of an east palo alto steel company, bill heinke, a flight instructor and his girlfriend. the plane was taken out of the water and police realized two more bodies were in it. >> they are in the immediate area of the plane. i'm not sure where they are in relation to the plane. they have been located. they are in a position whe
